It will be a delight to welcome you to Dubai for the Second Regional Neurocritical Care Meeting in the Middle East and Africa on April 2-4, 2020.

After the buzz of the First Regional Meeting, our challenge was to exceed expectations and embed the multidisciplinary message of the NCS within our upcoming meeting, coupled with knowledge, research collaboration and networking. Additionally, it will be a great opportunity for all to either explore or re-explore the new hidden gems of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

As part of the flourishing partnership, the International Pan Arab Critical Care Medicine Society (IPACCMS) and the NCS partnered again in developing the neurocritical care content of the conference. The Regional Meeting will take in conjunction with the 16th Edition of the Emirates Critical Care Conference and in association with the 16th World Federation of Critical Care Nurses Congress, thereby expanding the opportunities of regional networking and global outreach.

As part of the three-day event, there will be the highlighted full-day Neurocritical Care Track (April 3) that features topics and practice updates that cover:

  • Declaration of death by neurological criteria
  • Ischemic stroke
  • Intracranial hemorrhage
  • Traumatic brain injury management
  • Management of complications of neurological disease

The day will also include a subarachnoid hemorrhage expert’s discussion focusing on new insights, followed by three interactive pro-con debates on controversial topics in neurocritical care.

Meeting courses and workshops will include a Live ENLS Course (April 2) for which the NCS has waived registration fees for the first 100 nurses and pharmacists registrants. For the first time, there will be great educational opportunities to engage global healthcare providers in the Nursing Neurocritical Care Workshop (April 4) and the Neuropharmacology Workshop (April 4).

The Research Roundtable Discussion hour will take place on April 2.  The Curing Coma Campaign will be introduced to the region, and the Editor-in-Chief will present how to successfully publish in Neurocritical Care.

To share your research work with members from the region, original abstracts relevant to basic, translational and clinical research in neurocritical care submitted to the conference will qualify for publication in Neurocritical Care. Abstract submission will be accepted through February 15, 2020.

We anticipate a great Regional Meeting and hope to see you all in Dubai, April 2-4, 2020.
