The NCS Advanced Practice Providers (APP) Section is pleased to announce the release of two APP educational products.

First, the APP Neuroanatomy and Neuroradiology Series is a four-part webinar series covering neuroanatomy, lesion localization and neuroimaging. This product provides an in-depth overview of cortical and brainstem anatomy, and is an ideal resource for APPs, or other clinicians, to build a basic neuroanatomy foundation or for those who desire a refresher course on these topics. The webinar series is accredited by Cine-Med and participants can claim four Nursing Continuing Education contact hours upon completion.

Next, the APP Orientation Toolkit structures learning and guides onboarding for a new APP to the neurocritical care setting.  It includes organized resources covering 25 topics, including foundations in neurology and critical care, pathology, disease management and commonly encountered procedures in neurocritical care. The Orientation Toolkit outlines key disease-based learning using NCS products, including The Pocket Guide to Neurocritical Care, Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS) and subscriptions to NCS On Call, PONS and the APP Neuroanatomy Webinar Series! The tool offers competency suggestions for the APP to demonstrate to their preceptor/mentor, and once the learner has completed all modules, he/she will be able to print a certificate of completion and claim applicable continuing education.

Prices vary for both products based on bundling options, with discounts offered for bulk purchases and NCS members.

Check out the digital education page on the NCS website for more information on how to utilize these valuable products.

If you’d like to keep in touch with other NCS APPs, the APP List-Serve has proven to be a great tool to share ideas, network and collaborate. Feel free to connect with other APPs through the List-Serve.

Finally, we hope to see you at the APP sessions in Vancouver, British Columbia at the 17th Annual Meeting. We will be hosting the Advanced Practice Providers Workshop on Tuesday morning, October 15, a networking event (date/time TBD) and an APP section meeting (date/time TBD). Please watch for updates on the APP List-Serve.

Until then, have a great summer!
