Romer Geocadin, MD, Editor-in-Chief emeritus

Geocadin, MD, is professor of Neurology, Anesthesiology-Critical Care Medicine and Neurosurgery, with joint appointment in Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHSOM) in Baltimore, Maryland. He completed his medical degree from University of the East, Ramon Magsaysay College of Medicine and post-graduate internship at the Philippine General Hospital. He completed his general neurology training at the NYU Medical Center, then trained as clinical and research fellow in neurocritical care at JHSOM. He was the founding chairperson of the Multidisciplinary Critical Care Practice Committee at Johns Hopkins Bayview. He is a co-founder and co-director of the Johns Hopkins Encephalitis Center. Dr. Geocadin was the founding editor-in-chief of Currents, and the founding chair of the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) Website/ Communications Committee. He was chair of the 2014 NCS Annual Meeting and NCS President in 2015.
