Matthew Koenig, MD, FNCS, is a neurointensivist at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and associate professor of Medicine at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. He is the medical director of Telemedicine for the Queen’s Health Systems. Dr. Koenig graduated medical school from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. After an internship at Mayo Clinic, he completed residency and fellowship training in neurology and neurocritical care at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Koenig served on the Neurocritical Care Society (NCS) Board of Directors from 2010-2014. He was a founding editor of Currents and served as its Editor-in-Chief from 2010-2017. He chaired the NCS Communications Committee from 2014-2016 and oversaw redesign of the NCS website during this tenure.
