Lauren Koffman, DO, MS, is an assistant professor of Neurology and Neurosurgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where she practices as a neurointensivist. Prior to medical school, Dr. Koffman completed a master’s degree in Clinical Investigation at the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. After obtaining her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine New York, she went on to complete a neurology residency and served as Chief Resident at Cleveland Clinic. Following residency, she pursued a neurocritical care fellowship at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Koffman contributes Currents content on various topics, including interviews with federally funded neurointensivists, introductions to graduating neurocritical care fellows, conference summaries/highlights and international events featuring neurocritical care topics and education.
