Katleen Wyatt Chester, PharmD, BCCCP, BCGP is a clinical pharmacist specialist in neurocritical care and director of the PGY-2 Neurology Pharmacy Residency Program, established in 2017. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Mercer University Southern School of Pharmacy in 2006 and completed both pharmacy practice and critical care specialty residencies at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. She holds dual specialty board certifications in critical care pharmacy (BCCCP) and geriatrics pharmacy (BCGP). Dr. Chester began her career as a clinical pharmacist in Grady’s busy Emergency Department and later transitioned her practice to the neurocritical care unit of the health system’s Marcus Stroke and Neuroscience Center established in 2010. Dr. Chester serves as adjunct faculty for the Emory University School of Nursing. She places high importance on organizational involvement and giving back to the community. Dr. Chester has served as a pharmacist member on the Advocacy and Membership committees within NCS and remains a member of the ENCC committee. Dr. Chester joined the Editorial Board for Currents as the pharmacist member in 2020. She works with NCS’ pharmacist members to develop article submissions about intriguing neurocritical care medication therapies or controversies, pharmacist practice within the United States and internationally, and any other neurocritical care pharmacy-related topics that may arise while working with the Pharmacy Leadership Committee.
