Fawaz Al-Mufti, MD, is a triple-trained neurologist, neurointensivist and neuroendovascular surgeon. With more than 10 years of combined training and work experience at the State University of New York in Stony Brook, Columbia University Medical Center, Weil Cornell University Medical Center and Rutgers University, Dr. Al-Mufti practices at Westchester Medical Center’s Brain and Spine Institute and New York Medical College as an associate professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Radiology. He also serves as medical director of Neurocritical Care and director of Neuroendovascular and Neurological Research. Dr. Al-Mufti’s research expertise is primarily in subarachnoid hemorrhage and acute ischemic stroke. He strives to synergize his clinical training and research interests to gain in-depth understanding of devastating neurological diseases and improve patient outcomes by applying early identification of novel treatment targets while enabling innovations in precision medicine. Dr. Al-Mufti is a member of the Currents Editorial Board, and he writes the “Tech Corner,” which explores the latest technological updates in our rapidly evolving field of neurocritical care.
