Fulfilling Our Mission Through Education

Dear NCS Members,

Fall brings with it many new beginnings, and as students return to school, we as neurocritical care practitioners can take the time to enhance our own practice, as well.

While we may have already completed our formal education, continuing education is a crucial part of our career. By keeping up with what’s new in the field, we stay current with the science and knowledge that helps us improve patient care. As an NCS member, you have access to a library of certification courses, continuing education programs and clinical resources that keep you in the know and help you perform to the best of your abilities.

Our society’s educational resources have something for everyone. For those preparing to take the board exams this year, the NCS Neurocritical Care Board Review Question Bank is a useful online tool featuring hundreds of questions to prepare you for your exam. Neurocritical care nurses can take advantage of the specialized N-Case NCS Nursing Resources. For pharmacists, our recently updated Pharmacotherapy of Neurocritical Care Series (PONS) covers a variety of neuropharmacotherapy topics, making it a must-take curriculum.

All members of our society can find value in resources like Neurocritical Care ON CALL®, Emergency Neurological Life Support (ENLS)® and conversations on the NCS Podcast Series. Of course, the NCS Annual Meeting is the event that features the culmination of our members’ knowledge and education that we look forward to sharing in together each year.

If you haven’t already, I encourage you to start this new season by exploring one of the many offerings I noted above, including the upcoming Annual Meeting. As a society, it is our mission to help you deliver quality patient care and provide opportunities for continuing training and education.
