Published on: April 04, 2025
Dear NCS Community:
Spring has arrived, bringing with it fresh energy and exciting opportunities in neurocritical care. As we step into April, I want to share some important updates and upcoming events you won’t want to miss.
NCS 23rd Annual Meeting Updates
This month, we’ll officially open registration for our NCS 23rd Annual Meeting in beautiful Montréal! This is your chance to connect with colleagues, learn from top experts and explore groundbreaking advancements in our field. If you’re traveling from outside Canada, be sure to check out travel and visa information to plan ahead.
Additionally, the submission window for late-breaking abstracts for the NCS 23rd Annual Meeting opens on May 1! Start preparing your abstracts now for the opportunity to showcase your latest research on neurocritical care’s biggest stage.
Don’t Miss These Key Deadlines!
The AAN’s Biannual Compensation and Productivity Survey closes on April 24, and they are seeking collaboration with NCS to ensure strong representation from the neurocritical care field. Be sure to contribute your insights so we can provide as many neurocritical care entries as possible.
If you’re considering certification, the 2025 UCNS Neurocritical Care Certification Exam application is open through May 1. Full details of these opportunities are available further below in this newsletter.
New Masterclasses – Expanding Learning Beyond the Annual Meeting
We’re excited to roll out a new educational initiative—Master Classes! As part of our commitment to being the go-to resource for neurocritical care education, these pilot Masterclass sessions expand on our Annual Meeting workshops by offering content submitted for consideration but do not require a hands-on component. This initiative enables us to offer even more high-quality education and ensure that valuable learning opportunities are accessible to our community year-round. The first Advanced Practice Provider Masterclass: Basic and Advanced Interpretation of Brain CT will take place virtually on June 4, followed by a Pharmacy Masterclass – All Shock Up: Treatment of Status Epilepticus on June 16. Please see below for full details.
Celebrating World Coma Day in a Big Way
World Coma Day was a tremendous success, with over 330 participants from 39 countries worldwide. The WCD YouTube channel garnered an impressive 55,000 impressions, featuring 74 published videos that totaled four and a half hours of content. These videos have already generated 2,400 views and counting. Additionally, World Coma Day fundraising efforts surpassed those of previous years, raising a total of $46,697, exceeding the amounts raised in both 2023 and 2024. A huge thank you to the Curing Coma Campaign organizers for such an incredible feat.
